A Sibley man faces up to 60 years in prison following a conviction on sex charges involving a minor.

The U-S Attorney’s Office reports that 40-year-old Michael Mayer of Sibley was convicted by a jury after a three-day trial in federal court in Sioux City. Mayer was convicted of sexual exploitation of a child following about four hours of jury deliberations. Read The Full Story…

Ranzie Hoekstra, age 77, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.http://www.andringafuneralhome.com

Funeral Services will be Friday, November 5, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan. Pastor Aldon Kuiper officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. all at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan.

Burial in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan.
