Program To Empower Farm Women Offered In Sibley, Coming To Sheldon

Annie's Project Sibley 2017 [1]Sibley and Sheldon, Iowa — If you are a woman and need to make some tough decisions about your farm, there’s a program coming up just for you in Sheldon.

The program, called “Annie’s Project” just wrapped up in Sibley, and now Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is going to offer it in Sheldon.

The Osceola County Extension Office recently graduated 13 local women from Annie’s Project.

Gary Wright, Farm Management Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach says it’s an agricultural business course offered by ISU that focuses on empowering women in agriculture.

He says the program will be held at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon beginning Thursday, April 20th and continuing Tuesday, April 25th, and the following Thursdays: April 27, May 4, May 11 and May 18. There will be a meal at 5:30 p.m. and the session will last from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
