Ocheyedan, Iowa — Construction continues on a $22 million feed mill for the Cooperative Farmers Elevator at Ocheyedan.

Construction on the new mill started this spring. We talked to CFE Vice President of Feed, Steve Petersen, who tells us about the mill, which will provide feed for a large area.

He says the mill will have a large throughput.

He says it will bring jobs to Ocheyedan.

He says the new mill will be across the street from their current grain facility, which has about five million bushels of storage, which is one of the reasons they decided to build it there.

He says the weather has been favorable for construction this past summer.

He says they’re pretty much on-timeline to finish about one year from now, in September of 2018. He says it will take about a month of startup time to get the mill running at capacity.
