Sibley, Iowa –
May 13, 2012, at 2:55am, Jose Lira, age 48 of Worthington, Minnesota, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, northbound on Hwy 60, north of 210th Street and struck a deer on the highway. Lira’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,500 damage. No injuries were reported.
May 13, 2012, Matthew Molitor, age 26 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested by an Osceola County Deputy for allegedly Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The arrest stems from a traffic stop for a moving violation in Sibley. Molitor was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
May 12, 2012, at 11:00pm, Randall Hofstra, age 49 of New Brighton, Minnesota, was driving a 2008 Ford Escape, southbound on Hwy 60, south of 120th Street and struck a deer on the highway. Hofstra’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 damage. No injuries were reported.
May 5, 2012, at 5:14pm, Connie Ten Napel, age 44 of Sibley, Iowa, was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion, eastbound on 3rd Street, approaching 4th Avenue in Sibley, Iowa. Rebecca Ruth Lyon, age 41 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was driving a 2009 Mazda, southbound on 4th Avenue, approaching 3rd Street and collided with Ten Napel in the intersection. Ten Napel’s vehicle sustained approximately $6,500 damage. Lyon’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 damage. Lyon’s sustained possible injuries but refused medical attention at the scene. Lyon’s was given a warning for Failure to Yield to the Vehicle on the Right. No other injuries were reported.
May 1, 2012, Joseph Lee Daggett, age 24 of George, Iowa, was found guilty of Making False Report to Law Enforcement, a Simple Misdemeanor. The Defendant is to pay a fine of $201.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any. The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of two (2) days. The Defendant shall have no contact of any nature, with the victim and the victim’s family for a period of one (1) year. On November 11, 2011, Joseph Daggett knowingly made a false report of harassment to law enforcement.
