I would like to announce my intention to run as a candidate for the Republican nominee for the Iowa House of Representatives from the new District 1, which includes Lyon, Osceola and most of Dickinson counties. Our country and state are at a crossroads, which require principled leadership.
The Republican Party and the citizens of District 1 deserve a leader who will not just give lip service to the priority issues, but will be a leader who will go to Des Moines and fight for them. Prolife, the restoration of 2nd amendment rights and less government are party pillars, which require uncompromising dedication. Funding priorities and problem areas such as education and social  services will require people who are able to identify the problems and then find solutions to turn these areas around to best serve Iowans.
My experience as a farmer, businessman, church leader, husband and father will enable me to rise to challenges ahead.
I’m a native of Osceola county, have farmed for 35 years, been on the county Farm Bureau board for over 20 years where I served as president and two terms as voting delegate, worked with commodity groups such as the Soybean Association and Pork Producers. I’ve been married for 28 years, currently serve on my church board, the Osceola Republican central committee, and the county Farm Bureau board. I have a B.A. in Accounting and have worked with many service organizations including Helping Hand Pregnancy Center and Love INC.
If elected I will utilize my experiences in agriculture, business, Farm Bureau and other issue based organizations to hit the ground running once in Des Moines. I ask the citizens of District 1 for their support and look forward to meeting and working with them.
Kevin Wolfswinkel Sibley, Iowa
